Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here YSL Manhattan Bag, the one they call “original order.” Folks are always fussin’ over these fancy bags, so I figured I’d take a look-see myself.
First off, they say this here bag is from Saint Laurent. Sounds mighty highfalutin’, don’t it? I heard tell you can find these bags in all sorts of places, fancy stores like Bloomindales and such, or even online. They got websites, see? Places where you can just clickity-click and order yourself one of these purses. But let me tell ya, they ain’t cheap. You gotta shell out a whole lotta dough for one of these things.
Now, this Manhattan bag, they say it’s a real looker. Some folks call it “clean and minimal,” which I guess means it ain’t got a bunch of frills and furbelows all over it. It’s just a plain ol’ bag, but made with fancy leather, mind you. They say it’s got this here buckle strap thingy on the top, keeps all yer stuff from fallin’ out. And they got these little metal pieces, they call ’em “hardware,” that are kinda bronzy lookin’. Makes it a bit shiny, I suppose.
Some folks, they go on and on about the “Le 5 a 7” bag too. Says it’s “iconic” and “stunning.” Honestly, it just looks like another shoulder bag to me, but what do I know? It’s got a buckle strap too, just like that Manhattan one. Seems like they like them buckles, these fancy designers.
Anyways, back to this Manhattan bag. They say it’s a good bag for city gals, the ones that are always runnin’ around doin’ this and that from mornin’ till night. I reckon it’s gotta be sturdy then, if it can keep up with them busy women.
- It’s made of leather, they say. Real fancy stuff.
- It’s got a strap so you can carry it on yer shoulder, or maybe even across yer body, like them crossbody bags.
- It’s got this flap thing on top that closes with that buckle.
- It’s got that bronze hardware, makes it look a bit spiffy.
- And get this, it’s got a serial number inside! Just like them fancy cars. They say it’s on a little leather tag, stitched right into the linin’. Or sometimes, they just stamp it right into the pocket. Guess that’s how you know it ain’t a fake.
Now, I hear tell some folks buy these bags second-hand. Seems kinda strange to me, buyin’ somebody else’s used purse, but I guess that’s how some folks save a bit of money. They got websites for that too, you know. Places where you can buy and sell used stuff, even these fancy bags.
People keep blabberin’ about these YSL bag dupes too, specially on that there AliExpress. Now, I ain’t one for fakes, but some folks just can’t afford the real deal, I reckon. I seen this lady the other day, Hailey somethin’-or-other, carryin’ one of them Le 5 a 7 bags. Looked alright, I guess, but I bet it cost a pretty penny.
They say these YSL bags, they hold their value pretty good. That means if you buy one and take care of it, you can probably sell it later for almost as much as you paid for it. Some folks even say it’s an investment, like buyin’ gold or somethin’. I don’t know about all that. Seems like a whole lotta money for just a bag, if you ask me. But I guess that’s why they call it “luxury.” It’s for folks with more money than sense, I reckon.
But what do I know? I’m just an old woman. But I can tell you this much: a bag’s a bag. It’s supposed to hold yer stuff. Whether it’s got a fancy name on it or not, it still does the same job. But if you got the money and you want a fancy bag, well, I guess this here Saint Laurent Manhattan bag is one of the ones folks go crazy for. Just make sure you don’t lose it, ’cause I bet it’d cost a fortune to replace. And for goodness sake, make sure it has that serial number thingy, or you might just be gettin’ swindled.
They say they’re “carefully made with attention to small details”. I guess that’s what you’re payin’ for, all them little details. And they say they’re “classic designs” so they don’t go out of style. So, I guess if you buy one of these, you’ll be stylin’ for years to come. Or at least until the next fancy bag comes along.
