YSL COLLEGE BAG Remake Classic Style A Guide to Affordable Alternatives

Okay, here’s my blog post about remaking the YSL College bag:

So, I’ve been eyeing the YSL College bag for a while now. It’s such a classic, you know? But the price tag? Ouch. That’s why I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” I’m not a professional or anything, but I like getting my hands dirty and I’ve done a few DIY projects before. This one was definitely a bigger challenge, though.

First, I looked up pictures of the bag online. Lots of them. I wanted to get a good feel for the shape, the size, the details – everything. Then I started sketching. I’m not the best artist, but I managed to draw a rough outline of the bag, breaking it down into different parts. This helped me figure out what materials I needed.

Getting the materials was the next step. I went to a local craft store and picked up some faux leather that looked pretty close to the real deal. I also got some gold-colored hardware, like the chain and the logo, from an online shop. It wasn’t easy finding the right stuff, but I think I did okay.

Then came the hard part – actually making the bag. I used my sketches as a guide and started cutting out the pieces of faux leather. I have to say, cutting straight lines is harder than it looks! After that, I started sewing the pieces together. I don’t have a sewing machine, so I did it all by hand. It took forever, and my fingers were definitely sore by the end.

The trickiest part was attaching the hardware. I had to punch holes in the faux leather and then carefully attach the chain and the logo. It was a bit fiddly, but I managed to get it done.

It took me a few days, but I finally finished it! I’m not gonna lie, it’s not perfect. There are a few wonky stitches here and there, and it’s not exactly like the real YSL College bag. But you know what? I made it myself, and that’s pretty cool. It looks good, it’s unique, and it’s got that classic style I was going for.

  • Material List:
  • Faux Leather
  • Gold-colored chain
  • Gold-colored YSL logo
  • Needle and thread

This project was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. And it’s definitely cheaper than buying the real thing! If you’re thinking about trying something like this, I say go for it. Just be prepared to put in some time and effort. And don’t be afraid to make mistakes – that’s how you learn!

And I want to say, It’s really a classic style.
