Okay, so today I decided to tackle the Patek Philippe Calatrava 5088/100P-001, the same one you see in their fancy flagship stores. It was quite the adventure, let me tell you.
First, I started digging around for information. I mean, where do you even begin with something like this? I found a few places online talking about deals and low prices on Patek Philippe watches, and even some claiming to offer a “selection of watches and accessories,” but I wanted to do this my way, you know?
I also stumbled upon some luxury watch websites, calling themselves the “world’s premier destination” and all that jazz. They had a lot of shiny pictures, but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for.
Then I found some places talking about the “greatest Patek Philippe Calatrava deals,” boasting about free shipping and returns. They even had some kind of AI thing that ranked watches based on reviews, prices, and ratings. Pretty fancy, but still not what I needed for my little project.

Then, I began to sketch the design on paper. This took me a while because I wanted to get all the details right. After many many hours, I think I got it, so I moved on to the next step.
Next, I tried to recreate the design on my computer. I used a simple design tool. This was way easier than drawing on paper, and after many many hours, I think I got it.
Finally, I found a guy who is a professional watchmaker to help me bring this watch to life. I sent him my design. I thought that this would be easy, but I was wrong. There were so many details that I missed, and he had to redesign it many times. This took forever.
What did I learn from this?
